Technical SEO
The foundations that let search engines and AI tools crawl, understand and rank your pages: site structure, speed, indexing, redirects and errors.
A health check, then the fixes
If search engines can't crawl a page, or find three versions of it, nothing else you do on that page counts for much. Technical problems are silent: the site looks fine to visitors while Google struggles behind the scenes.
We crawl every page, read Search Console, test speed on real mobile conditions and put every issue in order of impact. Then we fix them.
Example health check
- Pages indexed212 of 340
- Duplicate pages46 found
- Mobile speed (LCP)4.1s
- Broken links19
- Redirect chains7
- Structured dataValid
- XML sitemapUp to date
How we decide what to fix first
Not every issue matters equally. We sort everything into three groups and work from the left.
Fix now
Blocking rankings
- Important pages not indexed
- Pages blocked by robots rules
- Broken redirects from old pages
- Site-wide duplicate versions
Fix next
Holding you back
- Slow mobile pages
- Thin or duplicate pages from filters and tags
- Broken internal links
- Missing structured data
Polish
Worth doing
- Image file sizes
- Tidier page addresses
- Minor HTML warnings
- Redirect chains with no traffic
Why AI search cares too
AI tools rely on the same crawling and indexing as search engines. A page that Google can't read properly is unlikely to be quoted by ChatGPT or in an AI Overview.
Fixing technical problems is usually the fastest way to get more from the content you already have, and it makes every later piece of content work harder.
In practice
What it looks like after a redesign
Say a business relaunches its website and search traffic falls. We'd:
- Compare the old and new page addresses to find pages that now return errors
- Spot pages accidentally blocked from search engines
- Map redirects from every old page with traffic or links
- Resubmit the sitemap and watch Search Console weekly until traffic recovers

Compare plansQuestions
Do you need developer access?
Access to your website's admin covers most fixes. For anything deeper, we brief your developer or web provider with exactly what to change.
How long do technical fixes take to show?
Often 4-8 weeks, once search engines have recrawled the pages.
Which website platforms do you work on?
All the main website and e-commerce platforms, plus custom builds.
Will technical fixes change how our site looks?
Rarely. Most technical fixes are invisible to visitors. If a fix affects how a page looks, we agree it with you first.
How do you find technical problems?
We crawl your whole site with specialist software, review Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools, and test speed on real mobile conditions. Then we put every issue in order of impact.
